I am the author of the novels Mutt and Stray, the novella The Do-Over, and several collections of poetry including we are the body. I have given poetry readings with poets such as Kimmika Williams-Witherspoon, T.S. Hawkins, and The Strivers Row and have appeared alongside recording artist Matisyahu and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter. My poetry has appeared in radio broadcasts on WRTI and G-Town Radio. I am an alumnus and former chairman of Babel, Temple University’s poetry collective.
I have a bachelor of arts in English from Temple University, with a concentration in a creative writing. I graduated summa cum laude with a 3.96 grade point average and distinction in the English program. I previously attended the Community College of Baltimore County, where I concluded with a 3.91 grade-point average and summa cum laude honors. I was the president of the college’s Catonsville campus Student Government Association for the 2009-10 academic year.
