Promotion Blitz Day 3 (Belated): Distraction, Discipline, and Why I Need a Wife
Yesterday I managed to get a small amount of work done. I didn’t end up doing nearly as much as I would have liked, and clearly, I didn’t post my daily (now pseudo-daily, as I’m two for three) update. I also didn’t meet another of my goals, which I’ll begin fulfilling starting today for the remainder of the promotion blitz: to query 1-2 potential reviewers per day. I did approve my proof for the sticker design, so I’ll have 1000 of those in the near future. But mostly, I worked at my day job, watched Game of Thrones, and prepared for and hosted a delightful little gathering. The stir fry was excellent, and shame on you for missing it.
It has occurred to me recently that traditional marriage is a wonderfully pragmatic setup. While I’m mostly attracted to women with aspirations to some profession, having a housewife would solve a lot of time-management problems. I’m pretty good at balancing my day job, classes, and writing. When I have to do all my own cooking, cleaning, and errands on top of that, it gets a bit trickier. (I am actually a half-decent cook, but I am very slow at house cleaning and dislike it immensely.) Once I get out of school, I’ll hopefully be making more money than I am now, and if it’s enough to feed and clothe two, having a housewife to manage the things I find tedious would really let me focus on my craft. Maybe I’ll find a platonic housewife and date women with aspirations I find more exciting. Or just get a maid or something.
Anyhow. Today I’m back to work, and by tonight I should have a real update for you. Wish me the very best of luck. I’m chugging enough coffee to make my heart ache; it’s time to buckle down…
